What is Wordoku Solver and how does this function work?

Wordoku is a puzzle where you fill in letters in a square grid, ensuring that each letter appears only once in each row, column, and small box.

How did Wordoku originate?

Wordoku is another version of the Sudoku puzzle. The American Howard Garns invented Sudoku in 1979. He first called the game ‘Number Place’. That means: a place for a number. Later, the game became a great success in Japan. There it received the name ‘Sudoku’. From 2004 onwards, this puzzle has also been popular in America and Europe. Wordoku works exactly the same as Sudoku, but you use letters instead of numbers. The name is a mix of the English word ‘word’ and the game ‘Sudoku’.

What is Wordoku?

Wordoku is a puzzle with letters. You play it on a large square with 81 cells. These cells are divided into rows, columns, and nine small boxes of three by three cells. The goal is to fill in all empty cells with nine different letters. Each letter may only appear once in each row, each column, and each small box. There is often an extra surprise: if you fill in the puzzle correctly, you can read a hidden word of nine letters somewhere in the square. This way you know for sure that you have done it correctly.
