01 What are apparent temperatures?

Apparent temperature is the perceived ambient temperature, which can differ from the measured air temperature due to various factors. It is a measure of thermal well-being and covers the spectrum from the feeling of warmth or heat to comfort and the feeling of cold.

Windchill, for example, especially at temperatures well below body temperature, lowers the perceived temperature, while high humidity in hot or muggy weather increases it.
